Making Waves on the Wirral. SEP Hydrographic Steps Up for Big Blue Ocean Cleanup.
The coastline is a place of natural beauty, but it faces a growing crisis. UK beaches average a staggering 170 pieces of litter for every 100 metres of coastline. That breaks down to roughly one piece of trash for every 60cm of sand.
Faced with these statistics, SEP Hydrographic decided to take action. Today, the dedicated team headed out to Thurstaston on the Wirral for a hands-on Big Blue Ocean Cleanup event. Armed with litter pickers and bags, they hit the shore to remove harmful marine debris before the tide could wash it back into the sea.
A massive well done to the team for getting stuck in and making a tangible difference for our local marine environment. Every piece of plastic removed is a victory for our oceans.
